Nicole believes that you automatically have a personal connection to a piece of art work, whether it be aesthetic or emotional. Nicole's works are strong and immediatley grab your attention as they pull an emotional response from within you, keeping your mind thinking, and anylizing as your eyes move through the painting.
When Nicole paints, she draws from the emotions that she feels at specific time and place when the inspiration for a piece strikes her. Her love of the Australian beaches, surrounding wetlands and rainforest can be seen in a lot of her works. Nicole loves the freedom of being able to paint to express what she is feeling at that particular time. Nicole enjoys abstract as it gives her the chance to experiment with colour and texture. She is particularly interested in that colour is largely an abstract concept that we individually perceive in very different ways as the colours we surround ourselves will directly influence the way we feel. Therefore it is totally up to the viewer to connect with the art work and form their own feelings on the piece. It pleases Nicole that the viewer can be experiencing their own unique relationship with her art works continualluy taking them on an endless journey.
